Grateful- hopeful

Ken and I are truly touched by the your response. We have a need to make an initial $2,000.00 deposit by Tuesday - we are amazed to be nearly halfway to that first deadline due to your kindness. There is a long way to go but we are feeling the hope that comes from not being alone in this.

Thank you for standing with us and for identifying with our story. It means a great deal.

Deeply touched

We are amazed and deeply touched to be able to share that as of 10:30 last night the first goal was met. Thanks to the kindness and generousity of many we have met the need for the Tuesday partial retainer and deposit of 2,000.00.

A goal of 5,000.00 (2,000.00 more) is needed before Christmas for a parenting time evaluation and report by a social worker for the court.

We thank God for provision to make possible what would otherwise be impossible. Thank you for so much for joining in the effort to help Gabe stay in our lives.

The Gabe Story Keeps Growing…

We are amazed and grateful to be able to share another WOW update with you again so soon.

In just THREE and a half days, a growing virtual community has gathered together to raise

$5,671.54 for the Gabe fund- we are halfway to the goal! You are part of making a miracle happen.

That is seriously a WOW update.

My bold fundraising friend and coach Jim Henderson told me that I need to report this:

“Our next goal is to reach the $7,500.00 mark!”

This will cover the cost for a social worker to conduct a visitation study and a retainer for this stage of legal fees.

No-Cost and Low-Cost Giving

Even if you’ve already given what you can financially you can still help!

If you want to be part of this next miracle here are some ideas...

Take Action: Would you consider clicking to “share” Gabe updates? Who could you invite to “chip in” and join you in the effort? Many small contributions add up… it all matters, whether it’s $5.00 or $50.00.

Offer Prayer: A steady flow of prayer is needed for sure.
Continue KindnessIt’s a scary thing to put one’s story out there. The power of words of encouragement cannot be underestimated.

Cool Creativity – Gabe Gifts!

A young musician friend launched a brilliant idea-

She posted the Gabe Community link to her Facebook wallhttp://gabescommunity.posterous.com/

and made an offer to sell her CD’s and donate to the Gabe fund!

Another musician followed suit and a Ceramics artist will be joining in.

There is rumor of a family heirloom, some great books and a harp all being sold to help Gabe too! God bless you artists and those who jump in to share gifts for good.

“Chip In” Heads Up

We’ve had a few reports of chip in widgets that aren’t showing current numbers (sorry!). The combination of occasional “Chip In” snafu’s (don’t worry- all the money is getting where it needs to) and a contribution that came by check means that what you see on the “Chip in”, may not reflect all that has come in. Watch my Facebook page for accurate updates.

Thank you…

We are so so thankful and amazed at what can be accomplished when people come together.

Thank you for your generous hearts.

Kelly, Ken, Elliot and Gabe

A Christmas Update

Our Happy News- progress

With thanks to you!

Because of your help we were able to have an unexpected two days with Gabe just before Christmas! The funds from the effort of Gabe’s Community made it possible to seek and file a temporary modified visitation order which included these two days with our little guy this week. This is our first step in this process of seeking legal recognition as having right to visitation and full relationship with him. As of today the fund has grown to $6,500.00 in just over two weeks with only $3,500.00 left to meet our total need. We are overcome with appreciation.

We made the most of our time together these two days- we moved our celebrations up a day so that Gabe could see his ‘best buddy cousins’, we built a refrigerator box/duct tape playhouse, we baked pies together, we sang Christmas carols and told Christmas stories and we played repeat rounds of ‘Hi Ho Cherry O’.
What fun we had!

Thank you for helping to make this a truly Merry and hope-filled Christmas .

Up to $2,000.00 in Matching Funds offered for contributions made Jan 1-20!

Because you have been so kind to follow this story of what was impossible becoming more

and more possible and because you are part of a circle of support in the effort on behalf of Gabe I am delighted to share with you A HUGE WOW!

This morning Jim Henderson posted this note on his facebook wall:

"Over Christmas an anonymous donor offered to match dollar for dollar any amount up to $2,000 that's given to the Gabe Fund between now and January 20th. The goal is $10K. The fund sits at $6600 right now. I just gave $50 which translated means Gabe just got another $100 in his account. Let's finish raising the money to keep Gabe connected with Kelly, Ken and Elliot."
Jim Henderson

We enter this new year with hearts deeply touched and with a sense of hope and possibility. Thank you for being a part of this story. Your ongoing prayers and care make a difference.
